Privacy and postcode searches

WaterGrade is operated by Sirius Advisory Group Ltd. Contact contact@highintentlabs.com about personal information or corrections.

What happens when you search

We check a published postcode mapping or send the postcode to supported water companies’ lookups to identify its published supply area. We retain searched postcodes and the supplier mapping in our private database so we can check those mappings again. This does not include your name or full street address. The search postcode also appears in the result page’s address.

Vercel hosts the website and Supabase stores the database. Hosting services may process request logs, including network information, to deliver and protect the service. Operational database backups are encrypted and held in our private GitHub project for 14 days.

Saved reports

If you choose to save a report, its area name, area identifier, reporting period and a reference to the saved report’s contents are stored in this browser. Clear them from the Saved reports page or your browser storage settings. When you choose “Check for updated reports”, the selected area identifiers are sent to WaterGrade to retrieve the latest public report versions. The comparison happens in your browser; the feature does not create a server-side saved list. Normal hosting request logs may apply. No account or email subscription is created.

Contact and control

If you email us, we receive the details you choose to send so we can respond. Do not send a full home address or sensitive information when reporting a data correction. You can contact us to ask about access to, correction or deletion of personal information we hold.

We count postcode lookup outcomes and appliance-unit changes and optional feedback answers in daily totals, without visitor identifiers or tracking cookies. These counts help us improve coverage and usability. There is no newsletter signup or advertising tracking provided by this version of WaterGrade. Links to suppliers open their own websites, where their privacy policies apply.
